Costa Cordalis Dies at 75

Costa Cordalis, a Greek-German Schlager singer, died on July 2, 2019 at the age of 75. Cordalis was born on May 1, 1944 in Elatia, Greece.

Cordalis began his music career in the 1960s, and released his first hit song, "Steig in das Boot heute nacht," in 1971. He went on to release a number of hit songs throughout the 1970s and 1980s, including "Anita" and "Eleni." Cordalis also represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1976.

Cordalis continued to perform and release music until his death. He was diagnosed with cancer in 2018, and underwent surgery in April 2019. Cordalis died peacefully at his home in Mallorca, Spain, on July 2, 2019.

Cordalis is survived by his wife, Ingrid, and his three children.
